最近，PBS的新闻 道中曾 道过乌克兰的相关新闻，让我们来看看有哪些英语表达可以积累。
1.“乌克兰”的表达是“Ukraine”
记忆方法：“uk+rain+e”(英国的缩写+雨+e)；
2.“乌克兰人”是“Ukrainian”，还可表示“乌克兰的，乌克兰人语”
记忆方法：“uk+rain+ian”
（可以记忆成uk+rain+nian，然后去掉一个‘n’）
3. 乌克兰的首都“基辅”的英文是“Kiev”或“Kyiv”
4.Russia表示 “n. 俄罗斯 ”；Russian 表示“adj. 俄国的、俄语的；n. 俄语、俄国人”
5.“一位不愿透露姓名的美国官员”的表达是“a U.S. official whoasked not to be named”

9.“与…有关”的表达有“in connection with”、“be linked to”“be related to”、“be relevant to”
10.“关于”可以用“concerning”替换“about”
例如：What do you know concerning this? 关于这件事情你知道些什么？
11.“像…”除了用“like”之外，还可以用“resemble”表示“像…，类似于”
词组：resemble in表示 “在…方面相似”；例句：my brother resembles me in looks. 我弟弟和我长得很像
12.“进行”除了上文提到的“conduct”,还可以用“carry out”，
例如：It said that the operation was carried out at the request of the United States. 据称，这次行动是应美国的要求进行的。
“at the request of …”表示 “在…的要求下”
13.“expect the worst”直译就是“期待最坏的”，稍微调整成口语化就是“做好最坏的打算”，日常生活中都会用到很多，可以积累起来，
“be afraid and expect the worst”就表示“警觉起来，做好最坏的打算”
14.“clear sign”表示“明显迹象”，例如“it is a clear sign of instability of the relations”这是关系不稳定的明显迹象
15.“demand a ransom” 表示“索要赎金”；ransomware n. 勒索软件
相关的词组“a king’s ransom” 表示“一笔巨款”
例如：We don’t exactly get paid a king’s ransom in this job. 我们这份工作并没有拿到一笔巨款。
