Research on designing laser resonant cavity and its thermal stability
Abstract: Laser, as one of the most significant technological invention in twentieth century, not only widely used in the field of science and technology, but also had a profound impact on people’s daily life and industrial production. The global output value of laser-related industry has exceeded a million billion dollars every year. Optical resonant cavity in which light reflects back and forth can provide energy feedback. As the laser cavity in the work process will produce thermal effects, cavity stability would have been affected. In this article, resonant cavity stability and thermal effect are analyzed and studied deeply.
This paper first summarizes the optical resonant cavity, and then describes the optical resonator type and the basic theory of stability, the theory and knowledge of working medium thermal effects and the hazards of thermal effects etc. In the third chapter, aimed at the frequency doubling and acousto-optic Q-switched laser, mathematical software MATLAB was used, then I write a program to calculate the resonant cavity stability. According to the results of stability, the resonant cavity geometry parameters were got, to ensure that the resonant cavity can work in the stable region. In the end I make a summary of the graduation design and an outlook.
