Throughout our 36 years in business Lighting Analysts has been recognized as the author of “Industry Standard” calculation tools for architectural lighting applications. Our products are used worldwide by lighting professionals of all types; from manufacturers to specifiers (engineers, lighting designers), sales representatives and many government agencies (military, state and provincial DOT’s). Our software has been recognized through repeated real-world comparisons as accurate and reliable.

All calculation procedures follow guidelines issued by the Illumination Engineering Society or similar International body. Our Radiosity calculation and rendering engine is recognized as the pinnacle of achievement for this calculation technology. Our Chief Scientist literally wrote the book: “Radiosity: A Programmer’s Prospective”.

Our Mission

To assist the architectural lighting industry with the preparation and presentation of predicted lighting performance using powerful, yet affordable, calculation software, and to actively support that software with friendly, knowledgeable and accessible assistance.

Our History

Setting up shop nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, company founders Todd Saemisch and David Speer joined forces and created Lighting Analysts, Inc. (LAI) in February of 1984. In a world of main-frame computing, the mission was to create illumination software for the emerging personal computer. We have matured since then, but our passion for world class software and customer support remains at the heart of our company.
