思考到当前做打定的需要，进修Linux和Fortran也许是必需的，遂决定在空余时间进修一下Linux，首要的步伐就是部署。
一、部署Ubuntu
手上有Ubuntu 7.04 盘，是从 上下载后本人刻录的。
用该盘启动（可在BIOS中将启动顺序设置为光盘启动），在出现的菜单选择第一个选项，先运转CD上的Ubuntu，进入琐细后点桌面上的Installation便进入部署设置界面，关头步伐在于设置分区，设置一个swap分区，大小约为内存容量的两倍，设置一个文件琐细为ext3的分区，挂在/下。初阶部署，只需期待。
二、设置显示器的分辩率
我的显示器对比老，无法辨认，变革率只需60Hz。
执行sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup，作备份
执行sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
找到Section “Monitor”，修正其下两个值 HorizSync 30-96， VertRefresh 50-160
重启便可在琐细－>手选项－>屏幕分辩率中设置。
注：本日从新装了Ubuntu8.04,显卡可以辨认，可以很好地设置分辩率，所以此步更为俭朴。
三、增长更新源（符合Ubuntu 8.04）
在终端中输入sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list饬令，在翻开的窗口中添加如下内容：

生存后，在终端中输入sudo apt-get update会从更新源中下载新的软件列表。
四、添加中文输入法和中文支撑
哄骗新立得软件包管理器，搜刮scim关头字，在搜出效果中，选择和pinyin及zh有关的软件包，部署，从新启动便可以哄骗ctrl和space切换到中文输入法。哄骗新立得软件包管理器，搜刮chinese关头字，在搜出效果中，有关的软件包部署，可以改革中文支撑不够的处所。
五、部署其他软件
也哄骗新立得软件包管理器。
