代 为 Intrepid Ibex 的 Ubuntu 8.10 将在10月30日正式发布，相信又会有不少的 Windows 用户将会尝试 Ubuntu 8.10 的那个窗外的用户体验。对于 Ubuntu 的中国用户来说，似乎在安装 Ubuntu 完成后都会先修改软件源为中国内服务器上的源，这样以较快的速度进行更新系统下载中文语言包、中文输入法以及别的应用软件。
备份软件源:

很多人都会说这一步很多余，但是一旦你的软件源出了问题恢复一下不是更容易吗者也遇到过几次有人问我想恢复到默认时候的源怎么办实在 Linux 中很多设置都是修改配置文件来进行的，让初学者从开始接触 Linux 就学习备份设置不是一样很好的事吗议 Linux 初学者养成操作前先备份的习惯。

建议电信用户选择 CN99 的软件源（目前电信用户使用最普及的，速度快而且稳定）， 通用户使用台湾大学的软件源，教育 用户使用厦门大学的软件源。注意：不同的 络状况连接以下源的速度不同, 所以cn99并不一定是最快的源, 建议在添加前手动验证以下源的连接速度(ping下就行),比如说北京 通ADSL用户连接cn99就非常慢,而ftp.sjtu.edu.cn是相对较快的源,选择最快的源可以节省大批下载时间
